Equipment needed

What types of equipment do we take?

We take manual wheelchairs, wheelchair parts, and folding walkers.

We do not take electric wheelchairs because they are too costly to ship and can be too difficult to maintain in some developing countries. If you have an electric wheelchair or scooter to donate, contact Accessibility Medical, www.accesbilitymedical.org , 866-201-3829

To donate other kinds of medical equipment or home health care equipment contact either:

The Health Care Collaborative of Rural Missouri, www.hccnetwork.org, 660-229-4574
OR
Project C.U.R.E, www.projectcure.org.,816-994-2659

Acknowledgements

We want to acknowledge these organizations that have offered particular support.

Deerbrook Covenant Church in Lee’s Summit, which is our sponsoring church and whose members do much of the volunteer work in gathering and shipping the wheelchairs.

Apria Healthcare, who is our major donor. They have a regional distribution center in Lenexa and give us several hundred chairs a year. A special thanks to WT Bolen, an Apria warehouse manager who coordinates their donations and to Brad Smith, the regional distribution center manager.

Pastor David Cole and the Oak Tree Church in Lee’s Summit. For many years they have provided us with free storage space until the chairs can be shipped to the repair centers.

Sisters of St. Francis in Independence, MO. These Franciscan sisters also provide us free storage space for chairs in their warehouse. https://www.osfholyeucharist.org/
